Facebook has announced its release of a new college-focused social network “Facebook Campus.” According to techcruch.com the launch is aimed to gain back college-aged Gen-Z members who the platform has been losing to competitors such as Tik-Tok and Instagram, as well as help foster connection among college campuses who may not be returning to in-person classes this Fall. The social network will be available only to students with a .edu email address and a graduation date within the next 5 years and will initially be offered to a select 30 colleges in the U.S. These universities include public and private institutions selected to show diversity. In Georgia, students at both Georgia College and State University and Georgia Southern University will be among the first to try the new network.
